In Austin
For those living within the jurisdiction of Travis County, you can email communitycats@austintexas.gov for information on obtaining a voucher for medical care. You will have the option of choosing from a list of participating veterinary clinics. You can also call 311.
You can also take an injured/ill cat to Austin Animal Services contracted Emergency Vet clinics and let them know it is an injured stray. They will admit the cat and treat it for the shelter and the cat will be transferred to AAC in the morning. At this time, the following location is the only one available:

If you need immediate assistance with a sick or injured cat you can bring the cat to Austin Animal Center at 7201 Levander Loop from 11 AM to 7 PM Monday-Friday and 11 AM-5 PM Saturday-Sunday. You can also call 311.

Houston SPCA 24-Hour Injured Rescue Ambulance - Houston. The Houston SPCA is the only agency in the Gulf Coast region providing an injured animal rescue ambulance service 24 hours a day, every day of the year. If you see an animal who is injured, orphaned or in distress, please call 713-880-HELP (4357). If it is safe for you and the animal, please bring the injured, unowned animal to our Rehoming Center located at 900 Portway Dr., Houston, TX 77024 between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. There is no appointment or fee necessary for these types of emergencies, but we do ask that you call (713) 869-7722 and let us know that you are on your way.

The animal must have a treatable disease or injury.

The treatment must be performed at the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital (VMTH).
