Animal Protection League - 25 locations including Sulpher Springs, Canton, Dangerfield, Crockett, Commerce, Emory, Hallsville, Longview, Paris, Mt. Vernon, Marshall, Palestine, Mt. Pleasant, New Boston, Pittsburg, Jefferson, Henderson, Mineola, Texarkana, Winnsboro, Linden, and Atlanta. Confirm that they will provide spay/neuter service for feral cats.

Austin Animal Center - For kittens and Cats 12 weeks to adult: request assistance through their Community Cats program which is a partnership between Austin Animal Center and the Austin Humane Society to assist communities in the City of Austin and Travis County. TNR, free spay/neuter, rabies vaccinations and a place for the cats to recover after surgery is provided. See Community Cats Program. AAC’s Community Cat Voucher Program guidelines can be viewed here. Anyone wanting to get a cat TNR’d can email communitycats@austintexas.gov. The TNR-ing is done by AAC Volunteer Trappers.

Austin Humane Society - AHS performs surgery every Wednesday and Thursday as well as the first Monday of each month. Cats need to be in a humane trap (can be purchased or borrowed in advance if needed). Book your appointment and follow the instructions here. See Community Cat Program/Feral Cat Spay and Neuter Program. You can also purchase or borrow traps.

Emancipet - Emancipet understands the importance of TNR programs and has a policy of never turning away a cat in a trap if it is within their power to add it into the surgeries scheduled for the day. Spay/neuter services will be provided at Emancipet for $69 and will include a tattoo and an ear tip. Services for feral cats are not available on the mobile unit.

New Braunfels Community Cat Coalition - All feral cats for spay/neuter plus vaccination must be dropped off on Mondays only at 3353 Morningside Drive, New Braunfels and picked up between Thursday 5PM and Friday 7 PM. There is no charge for these services for feral cats from Comal and Guadalupe Counties and the New Braunfels Area.

Operation Pets Alive - Montgomery County. Offers two low-cost spay and neuter plans for residents of Montgomery County for cats and dogs.

SpayUSA / Animal League - Click here to go directly to their Feral Cat Program page. Applications are accepted to subsidize a percentage of the cost based on the number of cats and the available low cost options in the area.

SPCA of East Texas - Tyler. Low cost spay/neuter. Confirm whether they are proviing services for feral/community cats.

Texas Humane Heroes - Leander, Killeen. Low-cost spay/neuter.

Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter - Offers a free spay/neuter service for stray, feral, or free-roaming cats in their service area. Surgery days are Tues-Fri; Tues, Wed, Thurs max 3 ferals per person, any more need to be prearranged for Fridays.

Spaying or neutering cats early is beneficial because:

  • Less scar tissue is produced

  • Very young cats have a shorter recovery time

  • There are fewer risks of complications from surgery

  • It is much less stressful for the kitten

  • And there is no chance that the cat will “accidentally” create kittens because someone did not get the cat fixed in time

Community Cats United is an international nonprofit organization comprised of at least 116 countries that assists in helping individuals find low-cost TNR spay and neuter resources as well as funding assistance. Click here to access their FixFinder database to search for or add a facility.
