The links below provide general information about the services that various groups provide in relation to the TNR of cats and kittens. Be sure to also visit our Spay and Neuter Resources page as well as other pages for more detailed information. Also, please note that San Antonio resources are listed under South Texas Resources.

Abandoned Pet Project - Boerne. This group is dedicated to providing funding for abandoned, abused, and homeless pets so they may receive the medical care they need and is a non-profit supporting a network of fosters, veterinarians, community outreach projects, and spay/neuter initiatives.

Aggieland Humane Society - Bryan, College Station. Brazos, Grimes, Madison, Leon, Burleson, and Robertson Counties. TNR, Low-cost spay/neuter. A TNR feral cat spay/neuter only costs $5 and includes the spay/neuter procedure, a rabies vaccine, and an ear tip.

All The Animals Rescue Company - Bell County. WARNING: It has come to our attention that this group might be a SCAM. Proceed with care. If you have any personal information on them, please let us know. tnrtexasnetwork@gmail.com. NOTE: as of 8/2023 we realized that the website URL had changed. Unsure of any other changes. Advocacy, education and rescue efforts. They provide various services for a fee including TNR, trap placement and management, placement of shelters for community cats, adoption, relocation, and more. They also will go out of Bell County. Check out their services and fees.

Animal Birth Control Clinic - Waco. Free or low-cost spay/neuter, vaccinations. Outdoor cats arriving in a cat trap do not need to book a surgery appointment. Arrive 7:15am-8:15am, or text or email if a special arrangement is needed.

Animal Friends of Washington County - Brenham. Low-cost spay/neuter. Visit their Facebook page!

Animal Rescue Connections - Bulverde, Comal County, and Northern San Antonio. TNR, helpline, barn cat program.

Austin Animal Center — Austin, Travis County, TNR, SNR (Shelter-Neuter-Return), apply to become a community cat volunteer/trapper, free spay/neuter, rabies vaccine, and flea treatment for free-roaming cats, Community Cat Medical Voucher Application, Community Cats Program. AAC’s Community Cat Voucher Program guidelines can be viewed here. Anyone wanting to get a cat TNR’d can email communitycats@austintexas.gov or click here for a Trapping Request Application. The TNR-ing is done by AAC Volunteer Trappers.

Austin Humane Society — Austin, Travis County, Outside of Travis County. Community Cat Program/Feral Cat Spay and Neuter Program, TNR, free or low-cost spay/neuter, trap loan, trap purchase. All cats must be trapped within Travis County limits only. Appointments must be scheduled in advance; no walk-ins are available. The cost is $20/cat with the option to purchase additional vaccines or services.

Austin Odd Cats (Facebook Page) - Austin, Central Texas. CURRENTLY SHUT DOWN. This is a small feline rescue that specializes in special-needs cats and kittens and primarily takes in blind, and/or orphaned newborns in the central Texas area.

Austin Pets Alive! — Austin, Travis County. Barn Cat Program, adoption. Check out their Human Animal Support Services (HASS) Program.

Austin Pets Alive! PASS Program Facebook Page - Travis County. This is a program to help keep TEXAS pets owned by the public out of the shelter system. Abandoned pets may qualify to be posted here. Check rules on their page.

Bastrop Cats Anonymous TNR Society/Bastrop C.A.T.S. — Bastrop. TNR. Provides education and resources to facilitate effective TNR.

BCS Spay Neuter Project - Bryan, College Station, Brazos County. TNR, Spay/Neuter Advice, adoption, foster. Visit them on Facebook!

Blanco County Cat Coalition (BCCC) - Blanco County. TNR program, TNR education, and when resources are available: adoption and emergency pet shelter. Visit their Facebook page.

Boerne Animal Shelter - Boerne. Might be an option for friendly cats and kittens.

Central Texas Animal Advocates (Facebook Page) - Temple. This group strives to help animals in a variety of ways through their Facebook page. They welcome trainers, rescues, lost/found posts, educational shares, funny pet posts, animals in need, etc.

Central Texas Feline Rescue — Central Texas. TNR, colony management.

City of Florence TNR Program - Florence. Supports TNR, trap loan. Click here for the form to borrow traps. Spay/neuter will need to be arranged through Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter.

CommCAT (TNR) of Greater Waco - Waco. Trap rental, low-cost spay/neuter.

Community Cat Action Team of Greater Waco (Facebook page)- Waco. TNR program, trap loan, trap training, safety classes, colony support. Message iheartabc@sbcglobal.net or text 254-776-7303.

Coryell County Pet Rescue - Coryell County, Gatesville. Nonprofit no-kill shelter. May be an option for friendly cats and kittens.

Elgin Alley Cats - Elgin. TNR Program, Trap loan, assistance with TNR, Barn Cat Program. Nonprofit group of volunteers providing education to the community about the importance of neutering/spaying, vaccination and support of community feral, stray, and homeless cats.

Emancipet — Austin, Killeen, and surrounding areas. Free or low-cost spay/neuter. Mobile units do not serve feral cats. Spay/neuter services will be provided for community cats at Emancipet’s for $69 and will include a tattoo and an ear tip. Note there is a limit of 2 cats per visit. In the Austin area, Emancipet provides TNR services for community cats at their Pflugerville and East Austin clinics. If you have trapped a community cat, please call their resource center at 512-587-7729 by noon, and arrive at the clinic by 1 pm for surgery. They provide TNR services for community cats at the Killeen clinic. If you have trapped a community cat, please call their resource center at 254-415-4950. Ferals and Friendlies - Temple, Bell County. TNR, foster rescued cats in need of medical treatment, adoption.

Fixin' Ferals TNR and Rescue - Waco, Woodway, and Hewitt areas. This group has a focus on sick/injured community cats (feral or friendly), moms with kittens, and kittens, TNR PRogram, colony support, and community education.

Forgotten Angels Animal Foundation and Rescue - Gatesville. Private no-kill animal shelter. Might be an option for friendly cats and kittens. 254-865-9050. forgottenangels@earthlink.net

Forgotten Felines of Texas Facebook page- Bertram. This group states their purpose is to help manage and reduce the feral cat population in Texas by eliminating the need to euthanize with their TNVR Program. They also maintain a Foster program. Click here to visit their website.

Fuzzy Friends Rescue - Waco. Rescue and adoption group. Not sure how much they support TNR but could be a good resource for kitten foster homes and the adoption of friendly cats and kittens.

Gardenia E Janssen Animal Shelter (AKA Fayette County Animal Shelter) - La Grange, Fayette County. Barn Cat Program, animal shelter. Unknown if they provide any support for community cats but may be a resource for the adoption of friendly cats and kittens or cats needing to enter their barn cat program.

Liberty Hill Animal Hospital - Liberty Hill (Williamson County). Low-cost spay/neuter, service provided for community cats. They work with local animal rescues as a provider of spay and neuter services to help control the homeless pet population. (512) 885-0019

Living Love Animal Rescue and Sanctuary - Marble Falls. Adoptions, cat rescue and sanctuary for special needs cats. Visit them on Facebook.

Lockhart Lionhearts (Facebook page) - Lockhart. TNR (as funds are available), colony care and support, advocacy, and consulting.

Marble Falls PetPALS - Marble Falls. Low-cost spay/neuter for community and owned cats.

Milam Touch of Love - Milam County. TNR Program. To get onto their TNR schedule, please complete their Homeless Cat Census (anonymous is an option, but they won’t be able to help you if you choose that option). TNR’d cats receive an undocumented rabies vaccination, eartip, and injected pain and antibiotic medication. Donations are appreciated but not required for them to TNR your cats within Milam County. If you want to volunteer, please contact them at info@milamtouchoflove.org to see how you can help.

Mills County Pet Program (Spay/Neuter & Foster) Facebook Page - Goldthwaite. Might be an option for posting friendly cats/kittens needing placement, seeking volunteer support or spay/neuter options, posting possible lost pets, etc.

New Braunfels Community Cat Coalition -Comal and Guadalupe Counties, New Braunfels Area. TNR Program, TNR Classes, no cost spay/neuter and vaccination

Noah’s Park Animal Rescue - Austin. Helps and rescues abused, neglected, injured, abandoned or orphaned animals of all breeds and sizes. Could possibly be a resource for TNR’d cats that have injuries.

Pawsitive Karma Rescue - Austin area. Adoption, foster homes, TNR, Barn Cat Program. Pulls “last chance” animals from Central Texas shelters and also has a barn placement program for feral cats needing relocation and actively supports the TNR efforts of its volunteers and the local TNR community. Paws in Paradise - Austin area. Low-cost mobile pet euthanasia, crematory and burial services.

PAWS Shelter of Central Texas Community Spay and Neuter Coalition - Kyle, Dripping Springs. TNR Program. With combined efforts from PALS, CatTip Hays, PAWS Wimberley TNR, Blanco County Cat Coalition, and PAWS Shelter of Central Texas, community cats and other pets in need in this area are able to be spayed or neutered and returned to their community.

PAWS Wimberley TNR - Wimberley. This group provides low-cost or free spay/neuter surgeries along with vaccinations and flea prevention for community and feral cats in the Wimberley area.  The cats are humanly trapped, kept covered in a climate-controlled area until time for their surgeries, and then monitored for 24 hours while they recover from the anesthesia. PetPals - Marble Falls. Low-cost spay/neuter for community and owned cats.

Pet Prevent a Litter (PALS) of Central Texas — Hays County. TNR, low-cost spay/neuter. And check out their page on Community Cats. PALS is located in, and assists pets living in Hays County (assistance for residents of counties of Caldwell, Guadalupe, and Comal as funding permits). Piney Paws Sanctuary (Facebook page) - Rosanky, Smithville area. Sanctuary for Feral cats with issues keeping them from going back onto the streets, Feral Cat Trapper for TNR, daily care for resident cats. 512-237-3792.

Purrfect Pals Rescue - Austin. Cat and kitten rescue (primarily kittens). Volunteers foster neonatal kittens and those with health issues, and has an adoption program.

Save an Angel - Bastrop. Reduced cost spay/neuter & veterinary care for cats and dogs, foster program. A non-profit organization on a mission to build a community of compassion and care towards all animals by empowering people with the programs and resources needed to be responsible pet parents.

Save the Cats of Hays County - Hays County, Community cats, TNR, information. A collection of animal advocates dedicated to preventing Hays County cats from unnecessary euthanasia through working collaboratively with the San Marcos Animal Shelter.

Shadow Cats — Central Texas, Round Rock, Williamson County, Austin, Travis County. TNR, financial assistance, sanctuary. Also check out the organization’s One Life Fund and Community Cat Emergency Fund. The website also lists a page of helpful resources.

South Park Community Cats (Facebook Page)- Copperas Cove. People helping abandoned cats through TNR, feeding, sheltering & maintaining their general health.

Snip and Tip (Facebook Page) - Harker Heights. TNR/spay-neuter assistance in the Harker Heights/Killeen area. Contact by texting 254-780-7951, visit the website, or email codyscourtain@gmail.com.

Street Cat Rescue — Round Rock, Williamson County, Austin, Travis County. TNR, financial assistance, sanctuary.

Texas Critter Crusaders - Taylor. They help by providing goods, services and/or funding to help the animals at the Taylor Animal Shelter get what they need while they wait for their forever families. Email them!

Texas A&M Small Animal Emergency - College Station. 979-845-2351 – Small Animal Emergency. Unsure if services are available for community cats.

Texas Humane Heroes - Leander, Killeen. Low-cost spay/neuter, adoptions.

Thundering Paws - Dripping Springs. TNR Volunteers, TNR Program and education, sanctuary, adoption. Offers a safe haven for cats who are homeless, neglected, injured, or abused. Trapping instruction provided at at Tractor Supply in Dripping Springs (in the west end of the parking lot) the second Saturday of each month at 10am. Check out their trapping instructions.

Tiny Angels Kitten Rescue - Dripping Springs, Hays, San Marcos, Driftwood, Mountain City, Buda, Kyle, Wimberley. Community & orphaned kitten foster program for up to 7 wks of age.

TRAPRS: Trapping, Rescue and Pet Recovery Service - Austin area. A fully volunteer-run organization with a mission to help humanely trap, rescue and provide strategy consulting to lost or stray pet cases. Call their Hotline at 844-287-2777 or visit their Facebook page also.

True Blue Animal Rescue - Brenham (Washington County). Low-cost spay/neuter, trap loan program, adoption, foster-based rescue. This is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that takes in abused, neglected or abandoned animals, rehabilitates them and finds them homes. They educate the public on overpopulation and provide support by spaying animals for people who could not otherwise afford to do so.

Tuxedo Junction Rescue, Inc. - Austin. This group is a closed-intake sanctuary for rescued cats who, for reasons of age, health, or behavioral issues, are not considered adoptable to members of the general public. The mission of this organization is to provide sheltering, veterinary care, and loving attention.

Waco Animal Coalition - Lots of helpful information is posted on this website, including local resources for community cats.

WhiskMo Feline Rescue (Facebook Page)- Austin. TNR, rehoming free-roaming adult cats and kittens.

Willow Springs Friends of Ferals - Willow Springs, Fayette County. TNR Program. Assistance with trapping and spay/neuter.

Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter — Williamson County. Free or low-cost spay and neuter, Barn Cat Program, supports TNR. Schedule spay/neuter services by calling 512-943-3322 or send them an email at wcras@wilco.org. Visit their page on feral cat surgeries.
